The Built Environment target area focuses on community development patterns and design characteristics while encouraging efficient use and reuse of land. It prioritizes mixed-use development in high-density areas and reinvesting in traditional neighborhoods. The Built Environment target area also addresses other types of infrastructure, such as the City's utility systems, and accessibility to abundant parks and green spaces. 


Compact & Complete Community -

Concentrate development in compact, human-scaled, walkable centers and neighborhoods that offer diverse uses and services.

Utility Infrastructure -

Provide safe and reliable utility services at a competitive cost, including electric, natural gas, water, and wastewater. 

Public Spaces -

Through partnership with the Hamilton Parks Conservancy, ensure equitable access to parks and green space.
