Responsibilities


The Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) hears requests for variances as relief from statutes of the zoning ordinance - provided that they are not contrary to the public interest, health, safety, or welfare; hears appeals to the interpretation of the City's zoning ordinance and zoning map; and hears appeals to decisions made by the Architectural Design Review Board (ADRB), regarding the issuance or denial of a Certificate of Appropriateness (COA).
