The City may assist low and very low-income homeowners make emergency repairs to their homes for activities listed below only:
- Electrical Wiring
- Roofs (Seasonal from April 1st through September 30th)
- Water Heater Replacement
- Furnace Replacement (Seasonal from October 1st through April 30th)
- Plumbing Repairs
- Sewer Line Replacement
- Water Service Replacement
- Handicap Ramps (Must be confined to a wheel chair & have doctor's certification)
All interested homeowners have to apply to NDD for pre-approval and meet eligibility requirements as mandated by HUD. These requirements are as follows:
REQUIREMENTS:
- Income Requirements
- Residence must be inside the City of Hamilton City limits
- Residence must be occupied by the homeowner
- Copy of your latest tax return
- Copy of your house deed
- Copy of your current homeowner's Insurance documentation
The specific emergency situation will need to be inspected by the Division as well as a Health Department representative. You will be notified as soon as possible as to an "approved or disapproved" situation. Applications are taken on a "first come" basis and are limited to budget restrictions.
An application for emergency assistance may be obtained from our office or you can call and request an application to be mailed to you.
