The Emergency Medical Services Bureau of the Hamilton Fire Dept. is under the direction of EMS Coordinator Jennifer Mason with medical direction provided by Dr. Jerry Kripal MD. Three advanced life support (ALS) transport units provide emergency response 24 hours a day. Engine 4 and Engine 5 have the ability to respond with two reserve ALS transport units when the three first line units are being utilized.

The EMS Bureau oversees:

  • EMS Continuing Education
    • The Hamilton Fire Department currently has 67 paramedics and 38 EMT-Basics.
    • A paramedic is required to have 92 hours of continuing medical education in addition to Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification every 3 years.
    • An EMT-Basic is required to have 40 hours of continuing medical education every 3 years.
    • Hamilton Fire Department paramedics are certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
