Volunteer

The City of Hamilton Volunteer Program has been in existence for four years. We have had volunteers working in various City offices including: Income Tax, Finance, Economic Development and Police Department.  In addition to this our Hamilton Welcome Center is also staffed by a number of our long standing volunteers.  Finally, special event volunteers play a vital role in making our community events a success and we often have over 200 volunteers that donate their time at any one of them. You can find out more about our community events at the Butler County Visitor’s Bureau website.
There are many amazing volunteer opportunities in Hamilton and these are just a few. If you are interested in learning more about the programs below or in any other specific volunteer opportunities call the Program Coordinator for Volunteers, Karen Wittmer, at 513-844-8050 or fill out the Volunteer Application (PDF).

Adopt a Park and Adopt a Roadway

The Adopt a Park program is where a company, group of individuals, or other organizations agree to clean up a park six or more times a year. Groups who adopt a park will get signage placed at the park that they have adopted and will have access to safety vests, trash bags, and gloves.  We currently have 14 parks adopted.

The Adopt a Roadway program is when a company, group of individuals, or other organizations agree to clean up a mile or more of roadway four to six times a year. Much like the Adopt a Park program groups will receive signage along the adopted street as well as access to safety vests, trash bags, and gloves.

The Adopt a Park and Adopt a Roadway program require a two year commitment to establish signage at your adopted location(s).

HamiltonCARES
HamiltonCARES is a program that helps those in need, including the elderly and disabled, by helping maintain their property.  We have had help from SELF (a local non-profit), the IBEW (the Electrical Workers Union) and area churches who have all reached out to our citizens and assisted them by mowing, trimming shrubs and doing other general clean up around their homes.
